Most early teams treat go-to-market as a one-time launch event. This guide treats it as a weekly operating system: who you sell to, what you say, where you show up, and how you measure progress without vanity metrics.

The Repeatable Go-To-Market Playbook
Who this is for
Founders and small commercial teams who need a clearer weekly rhythm for finding, winning, and expanding customers.
What you will set up
- Ideal customer profile (ICP) — firmographics, buying triggers, and disqualifiers.
- Positioning brief — problem, promise, proof, and the alternative you replace.
- Channel map — two primary channels and one experimental channel.
- Weekly cadence — prospecting, follow-up, and learning reviews.
- Scorecard — leading indicators you can update every Monday.
ICP workshop (60 minutes)
List the last ten deals you won and lost. For each, note company size, industry, urgency, and who championed the purchase. Circle patterns that appear at least three times. Those patterns become your working ICP — not a slogan, a filter for outreach and content.
Messaging pillars
Write three short pillars: (1) the costly problem in the buyer’s words, (2) the outcome you enable in one sentence, (3) proof you can show without a long demo. Keep each pillar under 25 words so it can travel into email, landing pages, and sales calls unchanged.
Channel selection
Pick channels where your ICP already seeks answers. Common early pairs: outbound email + partner referrals, or content + webinars. Avoid adding a third “always-on” channel until the first two produce a measurable pipeline for four consecutive weeks.
Operating cadence
- Monday: refresh target list and weekly goals.
- Tue–Thu: outreach blocks and discovery calls.
- Friday: win/loss notes and one process improvement.
Scorecard
Track conversations started, qualified opportunities, and cycle time — not only followers or page views. Review the scorecard weekly and retire metrics that do not change decisions.
Included download
Use the accompanying worksheet to capture ICP, pillars, channels, and the weekly scorecard in one place.
